‘The Curious Belongings of Hamish McKinnon (and other occupants)’, a site specific installation created in the close of a block of flats in Dundee, is an investigation into place and object. The project was made in response to a collection of found objects from an old laundry room which was situated at the top of the stairs in the close. The installation consisted of a variety of objects and media: a collection of found objects, a set of eight lists, two hundred candles, one hundred and sixty sixty photographs, a video projection and a soundpiece created from found music. Through creating an “entire sensory, narrative experience” the viewer became immersed in the surroundings and became a part of the created reality.
